The Unit

The Extreme Sports Therapy Unit provides students with a way of developing their practical sports massage skills in a real working environment and it doesn’t get any more real than an all night event in the pouring rain and bitter cold. It also allows students to develop communication skills and boost their confidence whilst preparing them for a career in sports industry.
The unit usually contains a mix of students, some of whom are fully qualified and working to gain further experience whilst still at College studying a Foundation Degree in Sport Health & Exercise; and of course the Sports Therapy students
We have developed considerably over the last 4 years and we are still looking to expand further. We will soon be buying another marquee, our 4th, to provide some privacy for our female clients.

Whilst we have had some generous funding from the College we are essentially self funding, therefore any money made through donations is invested back into the business. With this in mind we are actively seeking sponsorship to help us make ends meet and improve the student experience. So if you are in a position to help, we would love to hear from you. In return we can offer national exposure and brand promotion at sporting events throughout the country.

We are geared up to service medium to large events and we like to focus on Extreme Sports, hence our involvement with Thetford Mountain Bike Racing (Thetford MTB).We can operate up to 12 treatment tables and if required we can operate in multiple locations at the same event.
The Unit also has the ability to be completely self-sufficient. We have a field kitchen and camping equipment and the only thing only thing we need is access to toilets and water.
Our event portfolio is growing rapidly. As well as our ongoing commitment to Thetford MTB, this year we will be attending the 3 CRC (Chain Reaction cycles) MTB Marathon Series events in Wales and BikeRadar Live at Brands Hatch before moving on to the Dusk ‘til Dawn and the Whyte Winter Series.
